Co-chaired by Paul Stannard (Senior Policy Manager, AELP) and Joe Crossley (St-Edmunds Society), this SIG brings leaders together to explore funding, curriculum expectations and operational challenges in 16–19 provision, alongside emerging trends.
Joe Crossley has over 20 years’ experience working in further education, employability and supporting young people to progress into education, training and sustainable employment. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively with young people who have faced barriers to mainstream education, supporting their development through vocational learning, careers advice, pastoral support and progression into employment and apprenticeships.
Joe has supported young people through alternative provision, vocational training and welfare support. He is co-founder and Director of Skilled Futures, an employability and skills provider focused on creating high-quality routes into work, training and apprenticeships.
As Chair of the AELP 16–19 Special Interest Group, Joe is passionate about bringing providers together to share best practice, influence policy and champion a simpler, more effective skills and funding system that delivers the best possible outcomes for young people.
