Overview
Stretching and challenging every learner is central to outstanding teaching — yet moving learners beyond simple recall towards genuine analysis, evaluation and creativity is one of the hardest things to do consistently.
This practical, interactive webinar shows how three complementary models can work together to cultivate higher-order thinking in any subject. Facilitator Daniel Beale introduces Bloom's Revised Taxonomy (the type of thinking you are aiming for), Webb's Depth of Knowledge (how deep and complex a task should be) and the SOLO Taxonomy (how well learners connect and transfer ideas), then shows how to combine them into a single, workable framework.
Using worked examples you will experience higher-order thinking as a learner, identify the cognitive demand of your own lessons, and adapt an activity to build in greater stretch. The session closes with practical techniques for using questioning ladders and feedback to push learner thinking further.
You will leave with a clear mental model, ready-to-use strategies and the confidence to raise the level of challenge across your curriculum.
