Overview
The session will explore the growing emphasis on inclusion, participation, learner experience, and equity within the evolving inspection landscape, alongside what effective inclusive leadership looks like in practice across further education, apprenticeships, independent training providers, and adult learning.
It will examine common weaknesses identified among providers, including inconsistent identification of need, weak adaptive practice, over-reliance on support staff, and poor use of learner data, while considering how organisations can develop cultures in which inclusion is everyone’s responsibility rather than solely the remit of SEND teams or safeguarding staff.
Participants will also explore practical approaches to identifying learner barriers early, implementing meaningful support strategies, quality-assuring inclusive practice through observations, learner voice, work scrutiny, data analysis, and curriculum review activities, and strengthening staff development to support adaptive teaching, reasonable adjustments, and inclusive curriculum planning.
The webinar will also consider governance and leadership oversight, including how boards and senior teams can triangulate evidence and better understand the lived experience of learners, alongside examples of strong practice from across the sector and practical actions leaders can implement immediately.
