Overview

This webinar is part of AELP’s ongoing devolution activity, with the focus of this session being Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs). The first cycle of LSIPs began in Autumn 2022 with employer representative bodies (ERBs) leading on their development ahead of their subsequent approval in summer 2023.  Over the past two years, annual progress reports have highlighted both the positive impact LSIPs are having locally and the areas where further development is needed.

This autumn marks the start of the next cycle of LSIPs.  The new LSIPs will facilitate the policy intent in the English Devolution White Paper of joint ownership of the LSIP model between ERBs and Strategic Authorities, in areas with devolution. As a result, several LSIP geographies have been changed to align more closely with the current strategic authorities.

The upcoming webinar will provide attendees with an insight into the forthcoming round of LSIP development and how providers and assessment organisations can play their part in meeting local priorities.
