Overview
What does the Milburn Report mean for training providers and the young people they support? Join AELP Chief Executive Ben Rowland for a live discussion of Alan Milburn’s independent review into young people and work, and its implications for the employment and skills sector.
The review examines why young people become disconnected from education, employment and training, including the barriers faced by disabled young people and those with health conditions. Its findings raise questions about how skills provision, employment support, health services and the welfare system can work together more effectively.
Ben will explore the findings and recommendations available at the time of the webinar, consider what they could mean for providers, and discuss AELP’s perspective on the role our members can play. The session will look at routes into learning and employment, the support young people need to participate and progress, and the partnerships that can help providers reach those furthest from opportunity.
With time for questions and contributions from members, this session will help you assess the implications for your organisation, identify issues to discuss with partners and contribute your delivery experience to AELP’s ongoing policy work.
