Overview
Ofsted's renewed inspection framework represents the most significant shift in a generation — moving from a single overall grade to a multi-area ‘report card’, from four grades to a five-point scale, and from deep dives to toolkit-based evidence gathering. At its heart is the Achieve, Belong, Thrive model: a more balanced, inclusive and developmental way of judging quality. With inspections under the new framework now underway, providers need to understand what has changed and, crucially, what it means in practice.
This practical, interactive session demystifies the renewed framework and toolkit and shows leaders how to prepare with confidence. We explore how grading now works, how evidence is gathered, and what inspectors look for under Achieve, Belong, Thrive. We walk through the three-part planning call, inspection focus areas, and the new approach to inclusion and case sampling, alongside the shift towards professional dialogue with leaders. Throughout, we connect the framework to your own quality cycle — helping you align self-assessment, SAR design and quality improvement so you can evidence real impact, not just policy. Whether you are revising your QIP or refreshing your self-evaluation, you will leave with clear, actionable next steps.
What You Will Learn
During this interactive webinar, you will:
- understand the structure and intent of the renewed inspection framework and toolkit;
- recognise the key changes from the current Education Inspection Framework (EIF);
- understand how grading now works, what grades you will receive, and how evidence is gathered;
- identify what inspectors will look for under Achieve, Belong, Thrive; and
- explore practical steps to prepare for inspection and align your internal QA and self-evaluation.
Why Attend?
With the renewed framework now in force, the cost of being unprepared is high. This session gives you a clear, jargon-free understanding of what has changed and translates it into concrete actions for your provider. You will gain the confidence to engage inspectors as partners in professional dialogue, to evidence inclusion and impact convincingly, and to align your self-assessment and quality improvement with what inspectors now expect — so your provision is judged fairly and shown at its best.
Who should attend?
This webinar is ideal for anyone who:
- leads or manages provision in the FE and Skills sector — colleges, independent training providers and apprenticeship providers;
- is responsible for quality, self-assessment or quality improvement (for example quality managers, QA leads and heads of curriculum);
- holds a senior leadership or executive role, such as principals, CEOs, directors and senior or middle leaders;
- governs or supports governance and wants to understand the renewed framework; or
- is preparing for inspection and wants to align internal QA and self-evaluation with Achieve, Belong, Thrive.
