Nick Preston – Chair, AELP Sport and Recreation Sector Forum
Nick is Director of Quality, Compliance and Excellence at Educationwise, an Ofsted Outstanding training provider delivering apprenticeships and workforce development programmes across sport, physical activity and health. With over 20 years’ experience in the sector, he has led national initiatives, supported international partnerships, and driven improvements in learner outcomes, wellbeing and employer engagement.
As Chair of the AELP Sport and Recreation Sector Forum, Nick is committed to giving a stronger voice to a sector that’s often overlooked, despite its broad impact across education, health and employment. He’s passionate about championing high-quality innovative provision, improving access to funding, and ensuring the role of sport and recreation is recognised in workforce planning and community development.
Under Nick’s leadership, forum members can expect focused discussions, practical collaboration and a clear route to influence. Nick’s vision is to build a space where providers feel informed, supported and part of something bigger, with the confidence to challenge and the insight to lead.
