Overview
The AELP Autumn Conference regularly attracts around 250 attendees and looks to support providers in tackling the immediate issues that affect their capacity to deliver excellent results for employers and learners.
The skills landscape is changing. Alongside proposals to reform the Apprenticeship Levy, the new Labour government has set out plans to create a new body, Skills England, tasked with ensuring we have a highly skilled workforce to drive economic growth.
Sponsored by City and Guilds, AELP Autumn Conference 2024 on 7 November at Deansgate Hilton, Manchester gives an opportunity to hear from a wide range of speakers from across the sector.
This conference is crucial for anyone working within post-16 education, skills and training, including all training providers, colleges, policy makers and consultants wanting to help shape the future of our rapidly evolving skills system.
We are thrilled to announce our Headline Speaker
We are thrilled to announce that the new Skills Minister, the Rt Hon Baroness Smith of Malvern, will be joining us as our headline speaker at this year’s conference.
With the conference taking place just one week after the Autumn Budget, Baroness Jacqui Smith will provide timely updates on key policy developments.
We expect the minister to also cover key updates on the new body that is Skills England and its aim to transform opportunity and drive growth in the sector as it is established in phases over the next nine to twelve months.
The minister is also expected to cover insights into the Growth and Skills Levy as this unfolds, giving businesses more flexibility to spend levy funds on training for the skills they need.
Attendees will have the chance to engage directly with Baroness Smith during a live Q&A session, making this a unique opportunity to ask questions and gain first-hand insights.
