AELP Essential Skills: Maths, English, and Digital Special Interest Group
AELP is pleased to reintroduce the former Foundation and Functional Skills Group in its new form: the Essential Skills: Maths, English, and Digital Special Interest Group. This forum offers a dedicated space for members to engage with key issues, share effective practice, and shape national thinking around essential skills.
The group is chaired by Chris Briggs of Pearson, who brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to supporting providers and practitioners across the sector.
Chris shares:
"I am delighted to have been elected as Chair for the AELP Special Interest Group – Maths, English, and Digital. This is an important time for the sector, and it is my pleasure to help support AELP, as well as practitioners and providers.
For the first meeting, I believe it would be particularly valuable to focus on the recent changes to English and maths within apprenticeships and the Apprenticeship Support Fund (ASF). We’ll explore how the sector is responding, how we are supporting learners with their English and maths, and how we can continue developing their digital skills."
This Special Interest Group provides a valuable platform for collaboration and discussion—ensuring your organisation’s voice is central to the future of essential skills within the skills and training sector.
