Overview

The Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 has become a key component in public sector tendering. It requires contracting authorities to consider how procurement can improve economic, social, and environmental well-being in their communities.

This practical session will explain how to understand and apply the Act in your tendering process—helping you improve your Social Value scores and win more contracts.

You’ll leave with:

Steve O'Hare

Steve O'Hare has 15 years’ experience in senior business development roles in the apprenticeship, vocational skills and employment services sectors, where he has been at the forefront of the evolution and development of these markets. He is currently the Owner/Director of his own firm, SCLO Consulting, which specialises in: market analysis and entry strategies; support on business decisions; tender management, writing, review and support. In its first 18 months of trading SCLO have supported a number of organisations to secure new contracts including T-Levels, Devolved Adult Education Budget, ESFA ESF Programmes and Apprenticeship Contracts with Local Authorities/Levy Paying Employers, and successfully supported organisations with their Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers applications.
