With the commencement of FE loans for those aged 24 and over to access advanced and higher FE courses and Apprenticeships from March 2013, the announcement of ‘24+ Advanced Learning Loans’ as their new brand name coincided last week with a BIS publication of Attitudes to FE Loans

AELP received this week a helpful response from Minister John Hayes to its earlier letter following his recent announcements on the new statutory duty on schools regarding their responsibility to provide accredited and impartial careers information.

As many will know, it is now 150 days until Functional Skills becomes compulsory for all training providers delivering apprenticeship provision, and Key Skills become part of vocational history.

AELP’s member hotline at enquiries@aelp.org.uk saw a flood of e-mails last week that coincided with our Countdown update on the certificate request system ACE, and an e-mail that was simultaneously reaching members from an Apprenticeship Issuing Authority asking centres with immediate effect to scan and upload additional documents to confirm PLTS and GLH for SASE Apprentices.
