Nominee Training for an Ofsted Inspection
Overview
Ofsted inspections are back in full swing after the summer break and any new or established provider who has not been inspected within the past two to three years is very likely to have a visit from the inspectors before the end of the 2024/25 contract year and prior to the introduction of a new inspection framework from September 2025 onwards. There will also be some ‘requires improvement’ providers expecting another full inspection after their interim monitoring visit.
This interactive webinar, specifically for training providers, employer providers and local authority providers, will give delegates a succinct but comprehensive overview of what being an Ofsted inspection nominee means at the current time and going forward for the rest of this year.
We will begin by reflecting on your own thoughts and concerns about being an inspection nominee before discussing what the role actually entails and thinking about who is best placed to carry out the function of being a nominee. We will also briefly consider the relatively new role of ‘shadow nominee’.
We will then look at some of the common pitfalls for providers being inspected which you, as a nominee, will need to be aware of.
We will examine in detail the key parts of the inspection process including what you can realistically do in advance of the inspection, the purpose of the planning meeting telephone call and what the lead inspector is likely to want to know and receive from you in advance of the inspection. We will also discuss what you can realistically do between the call and the inspection itself.
Finally, we will consider your role as the nominee during the inspection itself.
