AELP Research 2016

Welcome to AELP Research

AELP undertakes regular research for and with AELP members on a wide range of topics, at local and national levels, using quantitative and qualitative methods. The dedicated research team has the capability to design, collect data and deliver research in-house or in collaboration with other sector experts such as Employment and Learning Providers and national sector bodies.

From online surveys to analysis of statistics to in-depth discussion groups, AELP is in a unique position as the association for employment and learning providers to collect, analyse and report quality sector intelligence.

Only research projects and activities that have a demonstrable benefits to members are undertaken, regardless of whether they are commissioned by AELP colleagues, government bodies or other parties. For example:

  • Training provider members use our analysis of government statistics, collated in AELP Research Briefings, for strategic and delivery planning
  • Members feed in to policy developments through ad hoc surveys as well as our various network groups – to ensure their voices are represented in AELP’s regular discussions with policy-makers
  • Sector support events and tools are evaluated using various research methods to ensure quality and make future improvement.
