Developed in partnership with Innovate Awarding and Pearl Assess, the course is AELP’s response to capacity concerns about the roll-out of the new apprenticeship end point assessment requirements. These concerns have been raised by EPAO members and provider members. Indeed end point assessor availability seems to be one of the biggest risks we are all facing. Broken down into 6 modules, the course will:

  • provide an understanding on the basic principles of assessment
  • support best practice for assessors involved in End Point Assessment
  • provide further understanding to providers to help prepare apprentices for End Point Assessment
  • provide End Point Assessment Organisations with a starting point to then build a further professional development programme for End Point Assessors.

The course is free to providers and End Point Assessment Organisations who are members of AELP. Even better, members can put as many of their staff and potential staff on it as they like - this includes those who may just be on a contract to provide EPA services on a part time or temporary basis.

Access to the course for your teams is completely free and the first stage is applying for an Admin account in the learning platform provided by Pearl Assess. Your admin account will allow you to create learning accounts for your assessors and add the EPA course. There is no limit to the number of assessors you can grant course access.

When you register you will need to supply some simple details including your AELP membership number so please make sure you have this beforehand. This is important as it allows Pearl Assess to verify that you are entitled to receive admin access. Once these details have been supplied and successfully verified you will be e-mailed your login details and a user guide. This user guide gives details on how you can grant access to your assessors. Your admin account gives you full freedom and autonomy to add and create as many users as you want.

If in time you need more than one administrator, there’s no limit and no extra charge. But in the first instance, we encourage member organisations to ask one person to coordinate and request admin access.
