AELP achieve ‘Investors in Diversity’ award

AELP have successfully passed conditional review for the Investors in Diversity award, following a review into its practices carried out by the National Centre for Diversity.

The Investors in Diversity Award is recognised as a national equality standard, showing that AELP takes the values of fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion, and engagement (FREDIE) seriously.

The National Centre for Diversity has accepted AELP’s action plan for embedding FREDIE values into its working practices. Furthermore, the review highlighted the work carried out by the organisation in developing its recent mental health package. AELP were also praised for the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Summit that it has planned for September 2022.

In writing to inform AELP of their achievement, Solat Chaudry, Chief Executive of the National Centre of Diversity said:

“Congratulations and well done for the hard work you and your team have put into the Investors in Diversity journey so far… You have shown professional courage, an admirable transparency, and a steely determination to improve”.

Jane Hickie, Chief Executive of AELP said:

“We believe that everybody, no matter what their background, should be able to reach their potential. Therefore, we’re absolutely delighted to have been awarded conditional ‘Investors in Diversity’ status by the National Centre for Diversity. We hope that being recognised in this way shows the fantastic progress we’ve made as an organisation in embedding fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion, and engagement into everything we do.

I would like to thank all our staff, members, and stakeholders – as well as the National Centre for Diversity – in helping us to achieve this. We will continue to work hard in promoting these values and look forward to releasing more details on our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Summit in the near future.”
