As you may be aware, the government is introducing a new type of qualification for 16-19 year olds in England called T levels. These two, year full-time courses, will be of equal value to both classroom-based A levels and work-based Apprenticeships.
T levels are being designed at the moment, ready for starting in schools, colleges and training providers in the year 2020 – not so far away now.
This is your opportunity to have your say on the work placement element of T levels. Your responses will feed in to discussions about their final design.
Two leading organisations in the Skills sector, AELP and City and Guilds, are looking to invite as many as possible to have a say in what the new T level work placements should be like and how they could work in practice.
The first of two surveys will be for employers and will be available the week of 5th February. We are also preparing to launch a survey for providers the week commencing 19th February. At this stage we are raising awareness of these surveys and ask you to please alert relevant colleagues to forthcoming surveys on T level work placements.
Everyone who completes the survey will have the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win to win one of four Fitbits, Charge 2 or Alta in your choice of colour worth £90.
All responses will be anonymised and kept confidential unless you opt to take part in a more in-depth telephone call about work placements. The survey will be open to AELP members and non-members. The deadline for responses to the provider survey will be Friday 2nd March.
