Alex Khan

CEO, Lifetime Training

As a long-standing leader in the field of apprenticeships and technical education I am delighted to have this opportunity to apply to remain as a Board member of AELP.

I am a strong supporter of the government’s technical education and apprenticeship funding and delivery reforms. I have worked hard to drive support for them among the employer partners with whom Lifetime Training works. I believe these strong employer links, alongside my sector expertise and leadership, mean I have unique insights to continue to offer AELP.

I have a proven track record across a range of different companies focused on the delivery of apprenticeship training and educational services. I served as Managing Director within VT Group PLC for two years, with specific responsibility for managing their education and technical training business.

I subsequently went on to become Managing Director at Babcock International Group, leading their training business and working in partnership with some of the UK’s largest private sector organisations.

For the past six years I have been Chief Executive at Lifetime Training, the UK’s largest apprenticeship training provider.

My current role of AELP Board member has allowed me to act as an ambassador for the sector and promote the importance of quality apprenticeships and technical education. This has enabled me to influence employers in their commitment to the apprenticeship brand as well as driving learner commitments.  I believe I can help to support the continued value AELP provides to the network.
