Understanding the different forms of assessment involved in EPA

What you need to know to effectively plan for End Point Assessment in apprenticeships.

Date: Tuesday, 2 June 2020

Time: 10:30 am - 11:30 am BST

End Point Assessment (EPA) is a very different approach to check the competency of learners across a range of knowledge, skills and behaviours considered essential for the role they aspire towards.

This webinar will look at the core components of EPA across the range of assessment methods and consider the factors that need to be taken into account when supporting learner preparation.

Content will cover what EPA methods are commonly being used; how to establish the methods that learners will need to prepare for, and the core expectations and; best practice in preparing learners for EPA.

The aims/objectives/expected outcomes for the audience are:

  • The core expectations of EPA.
  • Different methods of assessment for EPA.
  • Establishing the expectations within assessment plans for EPA.
  • Preparing learners for a successful EPA experience.

Who should attend?

  • All providers offering apprenticeship programmes that are government or levy funded and want to ensure that they fully understand the requirements for the successful completion of End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Providers who are ‘in scope’ for an Ofsted inspection and want to ‘check’ that their approaches for learner development and preparation for EPA are meaningful and have real value for learners to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Members of staff who feel that their understanding of EPA and the different requirements needs development.
  • Managers and all staff involved in supporting the development of learners towards EPA.
