Cheryl started her career in the Education sector in 2001 working in administration for a local awarding organisation. After eight years and various different roles she then went on to manage teams of delivery and admin staff in two private training providers. She has a wealth of experience in the delivery and management of traineeships, apprenticeships and employability skills programmes and she is also qualified as a tutor, assessor and internal quality assurer. She graduated from Teesside University in 2010 with a BA (Hons) Degree in Education.

Cheryl joined AELP in December 2015 as Project Manager, working on a number of projects both in the UK and Europe. Her work on the Erasmus+ AppHelp4SME project took her to Cyprus and Poland imparting her knowledge of the UK education system, particularly the apprenticeships reforms, to provide quality assurance and advice and guidance to project partners implementing their own apprenticeship systems abroad. She achieved her level 4 Project Management qualification in 2019 after studying an 18 month apprenticeship, for which she achieved a distinction grade in early 2020.

In July 2020 Cheryl was promoted to the position of National Operations Manager currently works closely alongside Jane Hickie, Managing Director, and the Senior Management Team on the operational aspects of the business and the management of AELP sector forum groups and the AELP Good to Great Programme.
