ALP is hosting a series of one day regional provider workshops in collaboration with Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) on the introduction of the new QCF qualifications for assessing and assuring the quality of assessment of vocational competence and achievement. The standards were approved in March 2010 and reflect current practice in learning and development.
These new QCF Qualifications will:
• Establish new standards for assessment and quality assurance
• Cover the assessment and quality assurance not just for NVQs and other work-based qualifications but the full range of Vocational Qualifications within the QCF
• Promote the professionalisation of assessment and quality assurance
• Exploit the full flexibility of the QCF to provide a variety of pathways for potential assessors and quality assurance staff
The new qualifications will have an impact on Learning Providers in all sectors. These one-day workshops are designed to help provider staff get a better understanding of the new qualifications, their structure, content and the implications for CPD and up-skilling. The workshops will be facilitated by the team that worked with Lifelong Learning UK to develop the new qualifications.
