LSIS How to improve your bid writing skills and successfully win tenders & bids

Overview

This one day workshop is designed to help provider staff understand how to improve their capacity to successfully compete for contracts and projects in an increasingly competitive environment.  Through knowing and developing the critically important skills necessary to submit quality tenders supporting vocational learning, providers should become better prepared at investing time that leads to success.

At the end of the workshop, attendees will be able to:

  • Appreciate the different types of public procurement practices: open and competitive, selective, framework and negotiated and how providers are expected to respond
  • Analyse and understand specifications for services and develop an appropriate business case for delivery
  • Identify and describe the innovatory quality of the proposal – the key to successful tendering!
  • Understand the application process’ critical quality indicators and the importance of addressing the tender selection criteria
  • Be aware of typical bid writing  pitfalls – the “do’s and don’ts” of successful bid writing 

Delivery

The workshop delivery will be a mix of tutor-led input, group discussion and exercises supplemented with worked examples, guides and templates for future use.
