Job role
As Head of Delivery, Terry is responsible for the coordination and management of a range of external contracts. The role involves the deployment of a small team of project managers with regular interaction with a range of agencies and government departments. Terry supports AELPs network of Skill Champions and is responsible for managing the relationships with Sector Skills Council and associated members services. In addition, Terry supports AELPs Director of Delivery in a number of strategic developments as well as taking a policy lead on apprenticeships.
Terry has worked in the work based learning sector for over 20 years in a variety of policy development and/or operational roles. During this time, he has worked for Leeds TEC followed by a spell at the old DfES and five further years in vocational education and training management. More recently he spent two years as Apprenticeship Manager at Improve Ltd the SSC for Food and Drink Manufacturing and joined AELP in August 2009 following a spell at a College in the north-east where as Director of employer engagement he managed SFA contracts in excess of £2 million.
